Tip 60. Follow design tips
Like good content and good writing style, good document design can also make your document quick and easy to read.
According to design experts, you should follow these tips:
- Use serif fonts such as Time New Roman for printed documents; use sans-serif fonts such as Arial for on-screen documents.
- Left-align your text. Justified text can make your document harder to read because it creates uneven gaps between words.
- Avoid ALL CAPITALS. Their uniform size makes ALL CAPs hard to read.
- Use headings and sub-headings to break up long sections of text.
