Step 4.2 Further Expand your Keywords

When compiling your search terms, include variations in spelling (for example, 'indorse' and 'endorse', '-ise' words and '-ize' words', '-led' words and 'lled' words).164 Also include cognate expressions (for example, 'contractor', 'contracted', 'contracting').165 To help you brainstorm words, try indexes, subject guides, thesauruses, Ultimate Vocabulary, and the Visual Thesaurus. As you research the questions more thoroughly, review your list for further ideas, concepts, and search terms, and add those keywords to your list.
